North Coast 500 (NC500)

Over recent years the NC500 has become a popular destination for visitors from all over the world.  Some like to do it in a few days, but others like to opt for the slow tourism route and spend time in a local area getting to know it.  We offer short breaks from three nights, up to week-long or two or three week stays.  Our location is a great stop off on the NC500 and being not too far from Ullapool you can benefit from peace and quiet in a rural location but still in reach of shops, places to eat and activities.

Cycling the NC500?

We have a cycle store for visitors and even a therapeutic massage service based at the farm to help with aching muscles.

Walking the NC500?

We are a member of VisitScotland Walkers Welcome scheme and we have great local knowledge of walks and out of the way places to go and see.  Lucy grew up here and has children of her own so has a particular passion for finding family friendly walking routes and pram friendly walks near Ullapool.

Motorbike touring the NC500?

Scott is a biking enthusiast and can give you top tips and local destinations.  We also recommend local man Raymond who is mad about bikes and has a service hiring out bikes.

NC500 by car?

We have loads of parking space and our location is well placed as you can reach all the key destinations as a day trip from the cottages: Applecross, Durness, Wick, Brora to name a few.  This is a great option for people who wish to base themselves in one place for a week and experience the NC500 and discover Wester Ross by car.

I love it there - particularly the walk out and up at the back of the house, with the wonderful view of An Teallach as you walk along at the top. And the neighbour's bird table was an added bonus this time. Unfortunately we didn't see the red squirrels that she said come along occasionally. Maybe another time!
