We are not blessed with an extensive public transport network and would recommend that you prepare your journey well. Traveline has a great journey planner and mobile app.
There's a ferry bus twice daily from Inverness to Ullapool (once on a Sunday). In addition there is a school bus service that picks up request stops from Leckmelm to Ullapool and to the other side of the Loch in the morning and afternoon during school term.
Scheduled flights to Inverness from Amsterdam, Belfast, Bristol, Dublin, Jersey, London, Manchester, Orkney, Shetland and the Western Isles.
The closest station to Leckmelm is at Garve (30 miles) which is on the main Inverness to Kyle of Lochalsh line trains arrive here twice a day. The night sleeper to Inverness from London Euston is a good way to get from the centre of London, Crewe or Preston to arrive in Inverness by morning.
We are on the North Coast 500 which is a popular cycling route. There are a number of fantastic cycle routes nearby for both recreational and transport uses. If you fancy the challenge of the Leckmelm to Ullapool mountain bike route via Strath Nihme and Glen Achall you are most welcome to store your bike at the farm shed.

“Just a quick line to thank you for a lovely week at Leckmelm House. Lovely house and I can't think of a better spot. The track out up the hill certainly lets us know we live in flat Lincolnshire! Lottie, our border, has actually gone home with sore paws from the walking we managed. Due to our daughters wedding we never made it to Scotland this summer but we did manage a week in Skye in March and the weather was amazing then as well.
You live in paradise although I'm sure you don't have enough time to enjoy it!”
