About Leckmelm Estate
Leckmelm is not just a place for holidays it is also a living, working community that has been in existence long before Ullapool.
Currently there are 11 families who live here totalling 22 adults and 13 children.
Since 2007 the farm has been working in Partnership with the Highland Council to provide a practical learning centre for Rural Skills Pupils from Ullapool High School.
Under the guidance of West Highland College and Ullapool High School the pupils have particpated in a variety of traditional rural skills, animal handling and estate maintenance tasks as part of their National Qualifications.
In 2015 Lucy was awarded the first "Helping it Happen" award from the Scottish Land and Estates Highland Chairman for her achievements with school pupils and young adults with additional support needs who visit the farm on placement and get involved with many of the hands on activities.
