Campbelltown Cottage No 2
Built in 1880 this Cottage offers a cosy base whatever the weather. Aimed particularly at those on a budget, walkers, couples, families with young children or even singles the cottage has a spacious double bedroom and a small single with a bed and additional single sofa bed suitable for smaller folk in the double room.
The entrance hall has a traditional wooden staircase typical of a building of its era. Downstairs a sitting room with wood burning stove, TV, sofas, armchairs and a dining table and chairs. The kitchen is fitted with a small fridge/freezer, dishwasher, oven and plenty of cupboard space. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything from crockery and cookware to coffee filter and roasting trays.
The bathroom has good old fashioned bath which you can fill to the brim with hot water which is always a bonus after a long day on the hill as well as a power shower over the bath.
The cottage is in a good location below the Leckmelm Woods overlooking Loch Broom and shares a terrace with 1 other holiday let and 4 estate cottages occupied by friendly neighbours. They are some yards above the main road and are therefore very quiet and tranquil. Only a few steps away are two footpaths. The woodland path leads to Leckmelm Burn - this is a low impact path and there is a picnic table en route. The other is the Leckmelm Bridleway which you can take over the hills either to Rhiddoroch and Ullapool or further afield to Oykel and the East Coast. This can be traversed on foot, horseback or mountain bike. WiFi is provided free of charge.
