CommunityLeckmelm is not just a place for holidays it is also a living, working community that has been in existence long before Ullapool. Currently there are 11 families who live here totalling 21 adults and 11 children. Since 2007 the farm has been working in Partnership with the Highland Council to provide a practical learning centre for Rural Skills Pupils from Ullapool High School. Under the guidance of Colin MacDonald an Ullapool High School teacher the pupils have particpated in a variety of traditional rural skills, animal handling and estate maintenance. The Farm is looking forward to welcoming a new set of pupils in the 2012 Autumn Term |
